Like all exams, including CISSP practice exams and other certifications, the Project Management Professional Certification can be an extremely difficult exam to take. But never fear… the more knowledgeable you are about this exam and how to study for it – as well as deal with test-taking anxieties, the better prepared you will be for passing it with ease!

You can do it!

Studying for the PMP exam is best done by using practice tests. These tests help you get a feel for how the questions in the test are worded – and may help you pick out the correct answer even when you’re not really sure what it is. By getting used to the exam and the way the questions are worded, you are much more likely to pass it! Not only do practice tests allow you to understand the wording of the questions and the form in how the test is developed – it also teaches you a great deal of knowledge that the exam will test you on – so it serves a double purpose in studying. The PMP practice tests are extremely valuable sources of preparation for taking the actual exam.

The timer begins…

When you take the PMP exam, you will most likely be timed. This can add even more stress to the anxiety you’re probably already feeling. The best strategy for working within this time limit is to mark on a piece of scrap paper the questions you weren’t sure about (or if working on a computer, mark it for “review”). Give it your best guess and then quickly move onto another question – one you are sure about. At the end of the exam, if there is still time left, check the list you made with the questions you were unsure about and go back to re-read them. You may have even run across another question that provided one or more of these answers within it. If, in the end, you still run out of time before re-checking all of the questions you wanted to go back to, there’s still a high chance you passed anyway – because you spent the majority of your time working on the questions you were sure about. Passing the PMP exam preparation may be difficult, but not impossible – and by using your time wisely, you should pass with ease.
