Some Shared Experiences and Opinions

One person said that they had been using InMotion as their secondary server for more than a year. Regarding the support features, they claimed that InMotion has the best value among low cost shared hosting providers. For this person, support had been incredible, but they hadn’t really had many problems other than the occasional downtime. They were aware of various other InMotion clients having had issues with excessive downtime, but reported that they had only had 5-10 minutes of downtime a couple of times over the last year. They wholeheartedly recommended InMotion to those who do not require 100% uptime.

On the Other Side of the Coin

A different InMotion Hosting VPS Review subscriber had a completely opposite view. This particular user noticed a marked deterioration in 2008, possibly a result of growing pains. However, they stated that the up time performance is not acceptable anymore. Repeated outages and the clueless support people (who, according to this user, were unable to provide any answers other than “we’re looking into the problem”) has produced a debacle. This person further detailed that they had RAID corruption and hardware malfunction that had taken the site down for days! They also claimed that it was not uncommon to be down daily for 2 minutes to over 1 hour at midday. This customer was hoping that InMotion would get their act together. For now, however, he states that their time with InMotion has run out. So there you have it; two knowledgeable and experienced InMotion hosting customers. I suppose the old saying ‘to each his own’ is what applies here. Or is it ‘each to his own’?
